Good video, I have a question for you , I have this engine in a l200, see the vent coming out the valve cover on top going too the air intake manifold, is that not effectively chocking up the valves with oil and carbon build up ! Does it really need to go back into the air intake? Would it not be better going through a oil catch reservoir and seal of the the hole on the inlet manifold? I haven't done it, but been wondering about doing it, has anyone done something about this before, what do you think?

Are you sure the drawbacks outweigh the advantages? Because if you have excessive oil in your intake in a diesel engine, you might get a runaway, because the engine will burn up the oil from the intake, increasing its speed, which will throw out more oil into the intake. This is a positive feedback loop and is very dangerous. A runaway diesel is hard to stop unless you know what you're doing.

I wish I knew this before I tried on my diesel😅 After watching your other videos... it makes sense that you wouldnt want to starve the engine of oxygen either as diesel engines are compressing alot more air which I found out the hard way when I tried one of these products I sprayed a little too much and the engine went off like a gun fireing

Very good explanation. Very informative. Problem is that only 1% of vehicle manufacturers train their workshops on the cleaning of the EGR systems and intake. Second problem is it adds to the maintenance costs for the owner. A manifold full of carbon will have huge power losses. I dribe a 3.2 Diesel and cleaned my manifold afyer 75000km the amount of carbon in the inlet manifold was scary. To remove and clean everything tool about 4 hours. Labor rates is the most expensive part of services can you immagine how much it will cost a owner to have this work done every 75000km When the EGR cooler fails and it will it will add huge cost to the repair bill.

Is there any way to check combustion temperature? I have deleted my egr on ford ranger, i wondering if the temperature doesn't get too high. Im towing trailer daily

Your video titled 'why I don't install an OCC' has been one of the most useful videos I have seen. Your point was on spot, as other (few) youtubers have also pointed out: that an oil catch can is detrimental to an engine. I had an OCC installed on my Lexus, which I immediately took off. BUT, the people and manufacturers making such products are obviously NOT going to be happy about it. It's BAD for THEIR BUSINESS when people realize OCC are a farce!
